FEMA Seeks Feedback on Draft of Emergency Management Guide for Senior Officials: FEMA is seeking feedback on the draft “Local Elected and Appointed Officials Guide: Roles and Resources in Emergency Management.” This guide makes it easier for senior officials to understand, prepare for and execute their leadership responsibilities to help: Mitigate community risks; Save lives; Protect property; and Recover from disasters. FEMA is hosting a series of 60-minute webinar sessions to provide an overview of the draft guide and to gather feedback from whole community partners. Feedback can also be submitted via email. FEMA Seeks Competitive Research Proposals to Advance Emergency Management: FEMA’s Higher Education Program (HighEd) is seeking competitive research proposals to help advance the discipline of emergency management. The submission period closes at midnight ET on April 22. HiEd annually funds academic research that examines complex, real-world issues and provides actionable recommendations that advances the practice of emergency management. The program typically funds 10-15 exceptional proposals under $10,000.
